Red Cross Helps Eight People After Providence Fire

The Red Cross is helping with emergency food and clothing needs.

PROVIDENCE, R.I., January 9, 2015 – The American Red Cross is helping a family of eight people – three adults and five children – with emergency food and clothing needs after a fire Thursday on Calla Street in Providence. Red Cross volunteers Robert Foti, Lori Foti and Stephen Correira responded to assist the family.

The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a resident might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire.

American Red Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by generous donations and the work of volunteers.
