Heroes for Relief Campaign Kicks Off

Proceeds from fundraisers like the Heroes for Relief campaign allow the Red Cross to continue to provide vital relief to those affected by fires, floods, tornadoes and all disasters in our communities.

The 2015 Heroes for Relief campaign will kick off Wednesday, May 6th at the downtown office of the American Red Cross at 9:00am. The breakfast kicks off a three week fundraising competition that will conclude on Wednesday, May 27th. As participating “heroes”, teams and individuals pledge to raise $1,000. All proceeds benefit the programs and services of the American Red Cross of the Augusta Area.

The 3 week long fundraising competition will culminate with a Wrap Up Party on May 28th where the winning teams and individuals will be announced. Winners will also be recognized at the 2015 Heroes Breakfast on June 3rd.

2015 Heroes for Relief teams include Doctors Hospital, CSRA Business League, Cherry Bekaert, The Augusta GreenJackets, Martinez Fire Department, Young Lawyers Team, and the Augusta Red Cross Youth Board. Health and Safety training, services to our military and their families, and youth community involvement are also funded through donations made to the American Red Cross of Augusta.

The American Red Cross of Augusta provides emergency response to 15 counties: Burke, Columbia, Emanuel, Glascock, Hancock, Jefferson, Jenkins, Lincoln, McDuffie, Richmond, Screven, Taliaferro, Warren, Washington, and Wilkes. In addition to disaster relief, the Red Cross of Augusta offers compassionate services in four other areas: Armed Forces Emergency Services; health and safety services; adult volunteerism; and youth leadership development. Utilizing over 750 active volunteers and a staff of five, the Augusta Red Cross has helped hundreds of local residents with food, clothing and shelter during disasters.
