Thanks to a generous grant from Hewlett-Packard, the American Red Cross of Greater Idaho has 1,000 new comfort kits to distribute to local families affected by disasters.
Red Cross recently received a $62,000 HP Impact Grant to build 1,000 comfort kits at 25+ HP sites across the country. On Friday, the Red Cross of Idaho teamed with about 45 HP staffers at the tech company’s Chinden campus to assemble the kits. It took the group a little more than a half-hour to assemble and box up all 1,000.
The comfort kits contain shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, razors, tissues and other personal care items that someone might lose in a disaster. The kits are distributed to Red Cross clients following home fires, wildfires, floods, storms and other emergencies.
The American Red Cross of Greater Idaho would like to thank the amazing team at Hewlett-Packard for their speedy work and generosity.
