Red Cross responding to possible tornado touch down in LaSalle County

Red Cross Emergency Response Vehicle providing relief after Superstorm Sandy.

Severe weather tore through central Illinois last night leaving downed trees and power lines across LaSalle county.  In Earlville, a possible tornado touched down causing damage to multiple homes.

The Red Cross received the call to assist about midnight, and volunteers quickly responded with canteen services (food and water) to the first responders.  Damage assessment teams will travel to affected areas as soon as access is available to determine the extent of damage.  Red Cross is currently with LaSalle County EMA and Earlville officials to determine community needs and provide assistance whenever possible.
