I look forward to representing and advocating for the American Red Cross.

The Illinois Capital Chapter of the American Red Cross is pleased to announce Bryan Soady as the new American Red Cross Executive Director for the Springfield area chapter. He will serve 13 counties in central Illinois.

Soady, of Chatham, IL, joined the Red Cross in March of 2012 as the Director of Government and External Relations for the Red Cross chapters in the state of Illinois.  In his time with the Red Cross, he built strong ties with friends, supporters, legislators and volunteers, and also saw many important legislative issues pass that benefited Red Cross including, a license plate donor program, the expansion of CPR/AED training and awareness programs and most recently the “Illinois Gives” program initiated by Comptroller Judy Barr Topinka this Spring. Soady earned his Bachelor of Science from Bradley University, graduating Cum Laude with a History and Philosophy degree before obtaining a Master in Political Management degree from George Washington University.  Mr. Soady has had extensive experience with a number of not-for-profit organizations prior to joining the American Red Cross.

Teresa Haley, Illinois Capital Area Chapter Board Chair says, “We are pleased to have Bryan in the enhanced role at our local chapter. His experience in management, community relations and with the state legislature makes him the perfect person for this position and a wonderful addition to our team”.

“This is an exciting day for the Illinois Capital Area Chapter. Bryan is the perfect choice to lead the Springfield chapter,” said Anne Fox, Region Chief Executive Officer of the Central Illinois Region. “We truly believe he will help further the Red Cross mission within the community.”

"It is with great enthusiasm that I look forward to representing and advocating for the American Red Cross and working with the board, staff, volunteers, community leaders and families in all the communities in which we serve,” said Bryan Soady.

Soady will officially start his new role on August 4, 2014.
