Red Cross to Open Multi-Agency Resource Center in Baxter Springs

The Multi-Agency Resource Center will provide assistance options to individuals affected by the Baxter Springs tornado.

Wichita, KS, April 30, 2014 — The American Red Cross is facilitating a Multi-Agency Resource Center to be set up at the Baxter Springs High School Auxiliary gym, 100 N. Military Ave. Thursday, May 1 at 10 a.m.

Residents affected by the Baxter Springs tornado can visit the center and speak to representatives from several government, not-for-profit and religious organizations. Those representatives will be able to provide assistance options to individuals.

The center will continue to operate through the weekend with operating hours of 9 a.m – 7 p.m.

In response to the tornado, the Red Cross has provided food, water, bulk supplies and emotional support to residents impacted by the storm.

The Red Cross shelter remains open at the community center in Baxter Springs at 1101 East Ave.
