The next stop for Health Fair 2014 will be in Bossier City at First Baptist Church. Health Fair, held four times each year, offers a low-cost opportunity to help people focus on their health through completing a simple blood workup. “These lifesaving tests provide a way to identify areas of concern so that people may make preventative changes for better health or detect serious health issues with the goal of catching problems early enough for treatment,” says American Red Cross Executive Director Reid Brau.
Health Fair 2014
Tuesday, June 3, 7:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
First Baptist Church of Bossier
2810 E. Texas Street (church next to Pierre Bossier Mall)
At the event, participants may select one of two blood screening options. Both options include a battery of tests for CBC, glucose levels, thyroid function, cholesterol breakdown, liver and lipid profiles and more. One option also includes a PSA (prostate cancer screening) for men. Results will be available to participants in about one week.
Cost for the blood screening is $40 for the regular blood work and $50 for the regular workup plus the PSA. Participants should also bring a stamp or 49 cents for their results mailing. Fasting is recommended for 12 hours prior to the screening (water and prescription medications are fine), and participants must be at least 18 years of age.
