Ventura County Star Bell Ringer Benefits Red Cross

Fire Safety
Last year alone the local Red Cross repsonded to more than 50 disasters

The Ventura County Star Bell Ringer campaign is benefitting three local non-profits this year. 100% of the proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross of Ventura County, Interface and the Salvation Army.

Donations from this year's campaign will go towards local humanitarian relief efforts, including the Home Fire Campaign.

"Seven times a day in this country, someone dies in a home fire," said Regional Director of Communications Jessica Piffero, "Red Cross volunteers have been installing free smoke alarms and teaching Ventura families how to create an emergency game plan, so we can hopefully prevent another family from being part of that statistic."

Last year alone the local Red Cross responded to more than 50 disasters, most of which were home fires.
