Union Bank recently announced a new corporate sponsorship with the American Red Cross Triangle chapter. The Oxford-based company becomes the second corporate sponsor to partner with the chapter.
Barry Porter, regional CEO of the Red Cross, said that this is a win-win situation for the chapter.
“Their support will give us a huge boost to awareness of our mission and our efforts in this region,” he said.
Union Bank Advisor Blair Hicks helped coordinate the sponsorship, as well as a blood drive, which was held last month.
“The Red Cross touches so many lives,” she said. “It is a great fit within our own mission of making sure we give back to our communities.”
Union Bank raised more than $18,000 for the chapter with the company pledging its own donation of $5,000.
“Our company is community-based,” said Thomas Combs, Bank President and CEO. “We choose partners that we believe in, like the Red Cross. Their work and ours, helping the people in our local area, go hand-in-hand.”
In the 10 years Union Bank has been in business, it has contributed more than $450,000 to local agencies.
