Funds will support Texas flood disaster relief efforts.

In response to the recent historic floods that impacted areas across Texas, such as Houston, the American Red Cross has received a corporate donation to provide support for disaster relief. Atria Senior Living recently presented a commitment of $25,000 for the Red Cross to continue to provide services in response to the thousands of individuals and families impacted.

“When one of our four Houston-area communities was evacuated in April due to flooding, dozens of members of our leadership team traveled to the area and experienced firsthand the impact of the storms,” said Atria Chairman and CEO John Moore. “We are more than happy to make this contribution in support of the Red Cross’ tireless, ongoing efforts to provide aid to individuals who have been affected by this year’s storms, and we’re proud to continue serving active seniors across the Houston area for years to come.”

“The generosity and substantial efforts of Atria Senior Living are allowing the Red Cross to continue to offer comfort and assistance as families continue to recover from these devastating floods,” said Jennifer Adrio, Kentucky Region CEO of the American Red Cross. “Living in Kentucky, we are well aware of what floods can do, having partners like Atria Senior Living, enable us to respond and help people recover from disasters big and small, like the floods in the Houston, Texas Area.”

At the height of the severe floods, the Red Cross had opened 37 shelters, providing more than 166,000 meals and snacks, as well as provide more than 80,000 clean-up supplies. Today, the Red Cross continues to work with community partners and families who continue to rebuild and recover from this disaster.
