LAS VEGAS, NV, OCTOBER 3, 2017 — The thoughts and deepest sympathies of the American Red Cross family are with all those affected by Sunday night’s tragic shooting in Las Vegas. The Red Cross is on the ground working in close coordination with emergency officials to provide comfort and support.

Frequently asked questions about the Red Cross response:

Where do I go to get help?

The Red Cross is offering emotional and spiritual care at a joint agency family assistance center at the Las Vegas Convention Center. This center serves loved ones struggling to come to terms with this tragedy.

What does the Red Cross need?

We recognize that people want to help. At this time, the Red Cross has all the supplies it needs to support the families, including food and water. We are asking that in-kind donations be taken to Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada, 1501 Las Vegas Boulevard North, Las Vegas, NV or to 3Square Food Bank, 4190 North Pecos Road, Las Vegas, NV.

How do I donate blood?

Anyone interested in donating blood should visit redcrossblood.org to find a local Red Cross blood drive or call 1-800-448-3543 to schedule an appointment.

NOTE: Potential blood donors should note that blood being used today was collected prior to the shooting that occurred on Sunday. Donations made today will be put in the blood collection and supply system for distribution as needed.
