Goldsboro, Greenville, and Rocky Mount, NC– Each Tuesday in August, the Krispy Kreme stores of Goldsboro, Greenville, and Rocky Mount will donate $1 from every dozen doughnuts purchased to the American Red Cross.

The American Red Cross has been assisting people who face disasters for 130 years. Their services range from crucial blood drives to disaster relief.

In the past year, the Eastern North Carolina Region of the Red Cross has given more than $1.1 million in direct financial assistance to families to recover from disasters. These funds help purchase groceries, new clothing, shelter, and essential medications, among other necessities. The organization has also educated more than 60,000 people in emergency preparedness through home smoke alarm installations, disaster preparedness presentations, smart phone apps, online information, and classes such as CPR, First Aid, and water safety.

“The Red Cross stands ready to serve our community every day of the year. We hope you’ll visit Krispy Kreme in Goldsboro, Greenville, or Rocky Mount on Tuesdays this August and support our efforts to serve Eastern North Carolina,” said Brittany Jennings, regional communications officer for the Eastern North Carolina Region of the Red Cross.

Krispy Kreme has supported the Red Cross for many years through donations, and provides doughnuts for local Red Cross blood drives. Krispy Kreme’s donation of $1 per dozen sold each Tuesday in August will continue its support of the American Red Cross as they assist people throughout Eastern North Carolina.

“At Krispy Kreme, we care about our surrounding communities. That’s why supporting the American Red Cross is important to our organization,” said Amanda Tilley, owner of the Krispy Kreme stores in Goldsboro, Greenville, and Rocky Mount.

The Krispy Kreme store in Goldsboro will be donating to the Cape Fear Chapter of the Red Cross, while the Greenville and Rocky Mount stores will be donating to the Northeastern North Carolina Chapter. The American Red Cross will receive $1 from every dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts sold on August 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30. This will last the entire day, so visit the store closest to you to purchase your dozen and support Krispy Kreme and the American Red Cross.
