Red Cross Recognizes Generous Partners During Red Cross Month

A Busy Holiday Season.
"Your community spirit and generosity allow us to provide immediate humanitarian relief whenever and wherever it’s needed.”

Partners and supporters enable the American Red Cross to carry out its humanitarian mission across the Greater New York Region and beyond. During Red Cross Month, the American Red Cross in Greater New York recognizes its Ready 365 members, a group of corporate and community partners who provide significant local annual support of the Red Cross mission. Ready 365 supporters for the 2015-2016 year are Airbnb, Con Ed, HSBC, Sony and Wells Fargo.

“Thank you to our Ready 365 partners!” Josh Lockwood, CEO, American Red Cross Greater NY Region. “Your community spirit and generosity allow us to provide immediate humanitarian relief whenever and wherever it’s needed.”

In the last 12 months, the Red Cross provided emergency relief following more than 2,300 disasters across the Greater New York region, which includes New York City, Long Island and the Lower Hudson Valley. This included large-scale incidents such as the fatal building explosion in the East Village last March that left hundreds homeless, as well as smaller disasters like the single-family home fires.

Beyond disaster response, the Greater NY Red Cross helped make our communities safer and more resilient by installing free smoke alarms in thousands of area homes; by teaching health and safety skills like CPR, water safety and first aid; and empowered local families with vital disaster preparedness skills. The Red Cross also collected lifesaving blood and supported our brave service members and their families

March has been recognized as Red Cross Month for more than 70 years. All of our presidents, including President Barack Obama, have designated March as Red Cross Month to recognize how the American Red Cross helps people across the country and around the world.
