New Year means new goals and Club Red Pittsburgh is on the right track. The American Red Cross of Southwestern Pennsylvania young professionals group will host a Winter Cocktail Event on Friday, Jan. 29 at the Hotel Monaco in downtown Pittsburgh. The event will be held in the Clemente Room from 7 to 11 p.m.
More than 65 young professionals attended the launch of the club in last May. The Winter Cocktail Event is an opportunity for Club Red to build relationships with corporate and local businesses for sponsorships and to recruit new members.
Club Red’s target age is 22 to 35. The group offers a place for young professionals to combine community service activities in support of the Red Cross with social networking opportunities and career development. Young professionals are needed to fill leadership positions in planning fundraisers, leading teams, and organizing volunteer missions, among others.
“We want to involve more young professionals with Club Red and heighten awareness of the Red Cross,” said Eve Elsen, a young attorney in Pittsburgh and an organizer of the event. “With the help of more sponsors, we can put philanthropy where it belongs.”
This is Club Red’s first fundraiser that benefits the local American Red Cross. All money raised will support American Red Cross disaster preparedness, relief, and recovery efforts. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
Tickets are $40 per person, but there is no cost to become a Red Cross volunteer or join Club Red. For ticket information, visit http://tinyurl.com/clubredwintercocktail or call 412-580-9415. For more information about the Red Cross, visit www.redcross.org.
