American Red Cross of Upstate SC Names New Board Member

Jo Anne Hennigan Joins Board of Directors
It is extra special to have Jo Anne back with us in a leadership position.

GREENVILLE, SC, June 28, 2016 – The American Red Cross of Upstate SC is excited to announce that Jo Anne Hennigan has joined the Board of Directors.

“Jo Anne has been a dedicated Board member with us in the past and is rejoining us”, says Ann Wright, Executive Director of Upstate SC. “She is committed to ensuring we have trained volunteers ready to respond 24/7. It is extra special to have Jo Anne back with us in a leadership position.”

Hennigan has supported the Red Cross for 10 years and is looking forward to working with other members in her community to uphold the Red Cross mission.

“When disaster strikes, we all assume Red Cross services will be there,” says Hennigan. “I want to make sure the services my community needs will be available if the time comes.”

Hennigan is an attorney with Michelin and previously served as Vice President, Audit and Risk Management for the company. She also volunteers as a mentor at Pendleton Place and is a member of the choir at Greenville Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.

Each year in the Upstate, more than 1,790 Red Cross volunteers provide food, shelter, comfort and neighbors who faced emergency situations. This past year, when the historic rains and floods displaced families from their homes, volunteers opened shelters for families evacuated from their homes, provided meals, distributed relief items and cleanup supplies, and provided health and mental health services to the community. Volunteers are still helping families affected by the flooding overcome roadblocks standing between them and recovery.
