BEAUMONT, TX (April 16, 2018) – The American Red Cross of Southeast and Deep East Texas celebrates opening the new Beaumont office with a ribbon cutting ceremony April 17, 2018.

The Beaumont office, scheduled to move to a new location prior to Hurricane Harvey, was temporarily without a physical location when hurricane related circumstances rendered the new space unavailable.

"Reopening the office in Beaumont reaffirms our commitment to this community,” said Chester R. Jourdan, Jr., Executive Director, American Red Cross Southeast and Deep East. “The Red Cross has served the people in Southeast Texas for over 100 years and we will continue to be here to help prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies."

The new office will be located in the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce building, closer to community partners and other governmental agencies who work with the Red Cross.

“We are excited to have a new home in Beaumont,” said Skylar Thompson, Board Chairman, American Red Cross Southeast and Deep East. “Sharing space with the Chamber of Commerce will allow us to build and maintain partnerships that will better serve the community.”

The ribbon cutting ceremony begins at 4:00 p.m. followed by a chapter board meeting at 6 p.m. Guests in attendance will include, Sharon Jaksa, American Red Cross Division Vice President and Henry Van De Putte, Regional Chief Executive, American Red Cross Texas Gulf Coast.
