American Red Cross volunteers assisted 16 residents from three families, six of which were children.

In Lawrence early this morning a fire broke out at a three-family home on Bruce Street. American Red Cross volunteers assisted 16 residents from three families, six of which were children.

Volunteers provided funds for food and clothing, a hotel stay, shoes, snacks and beverages, blankets, funds for a portable crib, comfort kits - which include toiletries, and smoke packs - strong detergent that removes the scent of smoke from clothing and linens. Six Mickey Mouse dolls were also given to each of the children affected by the fire.

Thanks to the generous support of all of our donors, the Red Cross is able to provide comfort and resources to those affected by disasters across the nation. Whether the disaster is a small house fire, or a violent hurricane, the Red Cross is always there to support and comfort those in need.

Without our dedicated and devoted Red Cross volunteers, who arrive to the scene, night or day, snow or rain, we could not provide residents with the necessary resources and support. The American Red Cross of Eastern Massachusetts thanks you for your continued support.
