The American Red Cross of Western Massachusetts announced today that they are hosting a recruitment event and open house on March 26, 2015 from 2-7pm at our new location at 150 Brookdale Drive, Springfield. The goal of the event is to showcase all of the volunteer opportunities available in our local community.
Prospective volunteers will be able to visit table displays representing the programs and services of the Red Cross. You can speak with active volunteers who can answer any questions you may have about what is involved. Opportunities exist to respond to local disasters and provide relief to victims including Sheltering and Feeding on larger events. You can work as a liaison with our partners, assist with registration at Blood Drives or staff the reception desk. We also have openings to teach CPR, First Aide and preparedness education or help with various office related tasks.
“The Red Cross provides the training and resources to enable our volunteers to truly make a difference in our community” states Mary Nathan, Disaster Program Manager.
Please consider sharing your time and talent to make a difference in your community and join us for the open house. Tours will be offered to all who attend. For more information, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
