Do you know a person who has performed an extraordinary act of courage to save someone’s life or helped in the rescue of someone in need? Or maybe you know someone who commits hours to a special cause? Nominate them for a Hometown Heroes award!
Each year the American Red Cross of Central Massachusetts hosts the Hometown Heroes Breakfast to honor local individuals and groups that have shown courage, kindness and unselfish character or who have had an extraordinary impact on their community. This year’s breakfast will take place on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA.
Members of the community are invited to nominate local heroes for consideration by sharing their story with us. Honorees will be selected by a committee of individuals from the community. Suggested focus areas: Lifesaving acts, good samaritans (adult & youth), blood donors, and other acts that demonstrate courage, kindness and unselfish character through acts of heroism. In addition, nominations will be accepted for the Britney Gengel International Humanitarian Award. The heroic event must be ongoing or have occurred between January 1, 2014 and December 31, 2014.
Submissions for nominations are welcome from throughout Worcester County. Nominations must be submitted online or postmarked no later than January 31, 2015. Nomination forms and criteria are available on the Chapter website at http://rdcrss.org/1A8IiL1.
