The American Red Cross of the Chesapeake Region is currently working with the American Legion to provide support at the Veterans Crisis Command Center located at the Loch Raven Community Living and Rehabilitation Center, 3900 Loch Raven Blvd, Baltimore, MD 21218. Veterans will receive assistance in filing for VA appointments, grief counseling, benefit claims, and help with enrollment in VA health care. The Red Cross has partnered with the American Legion to assist with directing participating veterans to the correct resources, working with our community partners to fill gaps, providing water and cookies, and providing emotional support.

Center hours are Wednesday, July 30th and Thursday, July 31st from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday, August 1st from 8 a.m. to noon.

The American Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces (SAF) program ensures that service members, veterans and their families have worldwide, around-the-clock, access to timely and humanitarian services. The SAF program is responsible for sending emergency communications to and from members of the U.S. Armed forces and their families, providing all levels of volunteers (administrative to physicians) to assist at VA hospitals, transporting service men and women to and from appointments at VA hospitals, providing support to community partners, and so much more.
