Girl Scouts Donate Cookies to Red Cross SAF Department

American Red Cross
More than 550 cases were donated to the Maryland National Guard through this partnership

The Girl Scouts of Central Maryland donated more than 550 cases of Girl Scout Cookies to the American Red Cross of the Greater Chesapeake Region as part of their “Cookies from the Heart” program. During cookie season, Girl Scouts give cookie enthusiasts the opportunity to purchase a box of cookies for service men and women in their local community as a thank you for their dedication and hard work.

The Greater Chesapeake Region’s Service to the Armed Forces department worked with the Maryland National Guard to facilitate the donation of these “Cookies from the Heart.” Red Cross volunteers, along with local Girl Scouts, packed a Red Cross Emergency Response Vehicle to the brim with cookies, which were then taken to the 5th Regiment Armory to be distributed to Maryland Guard members and their families to enjoy.

This is the second year the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland has partnered with the Red Cross for this program.
