Holland, Mich., June 11, 2014- The American Red Cross of Ottawa County would like to thank the community members, organizations, and businesses that participated in the 13th Annual Golf Outing in Memory of Dr. Cal Bergsma on June 2.
About 100 golfers attended the event, which raised nearly $24,000, which was an increase of about $1,500 from last year’s outing.
“The Red Cross is so grateful for all of the people who came out to the links and support the Red Cross,” said Mike Mitchell, Chapter Executive of the Red Cross of Ottawa County. “The Red Cross cannot continue without the support of volunteers and donors and we are thankful to all supporters who attended the outing as well as those who were unable to attend and still supported our efforts.”
Those who attended the outing participated in 18 holes of golf at the Spring Lake Country Club in Spring Lake. All of the proceeds from the event will go towards Red Cross disaster relief efforts in Ottawa County, which responded to 123 home fires in its territory last year.
