NEWAYGO, Mich., May 7, 2014 — The American Red Cross would like to recognize and thank all of the community partners who responded to the needs of Newaygo residents during this recent flooding disaster.
Sheltering partners and distribution sites who generously made their facilities available to the American Red Cross and those in need of a safe place to go include:
· Resonate Church, Newaygo
· Fellowship Reformed Church, Muskegon
· Fremont Community Recreational Center, Fremont
· Newaygo Fire Department, Newaygo
The Red Cross would also like to thank St. Bartholomew’s Church in Newaygo for hosting the Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) for several days as well as the multiple organizations and agencies who participated in the center including: A Waste, Inc., Fremont Lion’s Club, Lion’s Club of Michigan District 11E1, Love Inc., Newaygo County Community Development, Newaygo County Department of Human Services, Newaygo County Mental Health, Newaygo Lion’s Club, Salvation Army, Samaritan Purse, Service Master by Great Lakes, Southern Baptist Disaster Relief, Team Rubicon, True North Community Services, White Cloud Lion’s Club, and World Renew.
The Red Cross would also like to thank the Newaygo County CERT and Emergency Management teams for their collaboration during the disaster as well as the River Stop Café in Newaygo for providing lunches for clean-up volunteers.
