The American Red Cross has elected new board members who will serve the West Central Chapter in Alexandria, Minnesota. A Red Cross Community Chapter Board is an advisory body supporting Red Cross staff and volunteers.
“The volunteer service of the new board members will be greatly appreciated,” says Linda Blackmore, Community Chapter Executive for the West Central Minnesota Chapter of the American Red Cross Northern Minnesota Region. “We’re excited to gain new perspectives while working together to ensure that the American Red Cross can fulfill its mission.”
The 4 new board members join 6 other local board members serving the West Central Minnesota Chapter of the American Red Cross. Each board member is elected for a three-year term. The new board members include:
Candy Bohjanen-Hammitt is a self-employed rental property manager. She currently serves as a Red Cross volunteer. She’s a blood donor and helps coordinate blood drives.
Karen Peterson has been a Red Cross blood donor for more than 4 years. She’s a new Red Cross volunteer. She’s self-employed with experience in food service and the postal service.
Audrey Waage has a background in social work, languages, and libraries. She currently serves as a Red Cross volunteer disaster responder and as a response lead during disasters.
Josie Wagner is a nurse serving Douglas County area residents. She has experience in helping people, which is great for the Red Cross and its humanitarian mission.
