Red Cross CEO Meets with Illinois Officials Following Storm

American Red Cross Regional CEO Cindy Erickson met with elected and emergency officials in Illinois Monday night, following Sunday's devastating tornadoes and severe storms.

After touring the destruction, Illinois Governor Pat Quinn spoke with Erickson in New Minden. The governor noted the widespread Red Cross presence in the hardest hit areas, and what that support means to those communities. Jonathon E. Monken, Director of the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA), thanked Erickson for the critical support the Red Cross undertakes during an emergency and in recovery. New Minden Mayor Candi Cross proudly spoke about how the members of her community are also pulling together and helping one another during this difficult time.
