The American Red Cross Greater St. Louis Region thanks local corporations for their generous support of the 2014 Lifesaver Awards Breakfast. The 3rd annual fundraising event, held March 13 at The Chase Park Plaza, raised more than $240,000.
AAA, Anheuser-Busch, Emerson, KSDK and US Bank served as presenting sponsors of the event – a sponsorship level of at least $25,000. Award sponsors, a $10,000 contribution level, included American Direct, Ascension, BP, Drury Hotels, Ekon Benefits, and Veterans Home Care. In all, more than 50 corporations supported the event.
“Every year, I am so inspired by the stories of the courageous lifesaving actions of those in our communities,” said Cindy Erickson, Regional CEO of the Red Cross. “Their actions truly depict the mission of the Red Cross. We are grateful to the local corporations who support both their actions and the work we do every day.”
Kay Quinn of KSDK NewsChannel 5 and Kevin Demoff of the St. Louis Rams served as emcees for the event. More than 460 people attended the program, which honored men, women and teens who acted courageously to save the life of another. The 10 award categories depict the Red Cross mission, and include Blood Services, Disaster Relief, Firefighter, Good Samaritan Adult, Good Samaritan Youth, Healthcare Professional, Law Enforcement, Lifesaving Organization, Military and Water Safety.
Over the years, the St. Louis Red Cross has honored more than 500 individuals for saving a life.
