Hundreds of Runners Line up to Run for the Red

We are grateful for all of the runners who ran to help support the Red Cross mission.

More than 275 runners and walkers laced up their sneakers to support the American Red Cross during the 2014 Run for the Red 5K on Sunday, December 7 in Millburn.

The race, sponsored by Investors Bank, The Alternative Press and the Sneaker Factory, took runners through a USATF-NJ certified course through the South Mountain Reservation before returning to the start/finish line outside the Millburn Public Library.

Congratulations to race winner and top overall male finisher Brad Livingston of Glen Rock, finishing in 18:03.55 and top overall female finisher Jessi Lindhenberger of Montclair with a time of 22:55.34. Michael Postaski of Maplewood and Beau Meredith of West New York took home second and third place top overall male finisher honors, respectively. Proceeds from the event benefit Red Cross programs and services in the North Jersey Region, including Disaster Services. In November, Red Cross North Jersey Region Disaster Action Team volunteers responded to 38 home fires in the northern half of the state and have helped at least 124 displaced families – more than 400 people – with shelter, food, clothing and emotional support as needed.
