The American Red Cross, in conjunction with Lutheran Disaster and Presbyterian Disaster, is hosting a Community and Home Recovery Fair this weekend for residents affected by flooding in the Lexington Green and Brian Lane community earlier this year. In collaboration with the Long Term Recovery Group, the Fair will give invited families that are still rebuilding the opportunity to meet with various agencies that can offer services, case management, referrals and other assistance in one place at one time.
Agencies scheduled to have representatives at the Community and Home Recovery Fair, continuing Sunday from 1pm-5pm at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3512 Clinton Street in West Seneca, include: The American Red Cross, The Better Business Bureau, Consumer Credit Counseling of WNY, ServPro, Catholic Charities, Military OneSource, PUSH Green, Evans Bank, Key Bank, Beyond the Basics Property Services, MacDonald Electrical Construction and West Seneca CERT. Materials from the IRS, SBA and National Fire Adjustors will also be available.
The American Red Cross is also providing assistance to families following three separate fires this weekend, the first in West Seneca Saturday afternoon, the other two on Division Street and Porter Avenue overnight. Anyone wishing to help people affected by fires, flooding or other disasters is asked to consider donating to the Disaster Relief Fund by calling 1-800-REDCROSS, visiting www.redcross.org, or texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 to charge a $10 donation to their cell phone bill.
