The American Red Cross on Long Island recently welcomed three new members to its board of directors: Donna Athenas, HR director of Rallye Auto Group; Frank Chau, founder of F. Chau & Associates; and David M. Daly, president & COO of PSEG Long Island.
The Long Island Red Cross board of directors comprises 34 business and community leaders who volunteer their time to help oversee the organization’s mission on Long Island. The Long Island Red Cross responds to approximately 200 disasters a year, and serves more than 2.8 million residents.

Donna Athenas, who first joined Rallye Auto Group in 1998, has been the organization’s HR director since 2001. Prior to joining Rallye, she was the first female store manager at the Century 21 department store in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.
Athenas is also a former employee-turned volunteer at the American Red Cross. As the latter, she was the driving force behind making Rallye Auto Group the first corporation on Long Island to join the Red Cross Ready When the Time Comes disaster relief program.
Along with her service with the Red Cross, Athenas is also active with a number of other civic and charitable groups. She teaches religion to special education children at St. Bernard’s Church in Levittown, N.Y., and has sat on the advisory board for Lincoln Technical Institute. At Rallye, she’s held multiple food drives and children’s Christmas parties as well as establishing an Employee Hardship Fund and scheduling annual health screenings. Additionally, Athenas gives her support, along with her Rallye colleagues, to the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk and to Swim Across America.
Mr. Frank Chau is the founder of F. Chau & Associates, LLC, an intellectual property law firm founded in 1998. In 2013, F. Chau & Associates was recognized by Intellectual Asset Management and Ocean Tomo as the number one New York law firm in securing for its clients the highest quality patents in the field of consumer electronics and components. Mr. Chau is a graduate of NYU – Polytechnic University with a Master degree in Electrical Engineering and holds a Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall University.
Mr. Chau regularly advises Fortune Global 100 companies, large and small local businesses, and entrepreneurs in complex patent litigations, licenses, opinions, product clearances, and patent and trademark prosecution matters. His practice concentrates in software-based technologies, electronics, semiconductors and telecommunications.
Mr. Chau presently serves as an Advisory Board member of Power Management Concepts, LLC, Stony Brook University CEWIT Center of Excellence, and the Plainview Chinese Cultural Center, Inc.
David M. Daly
David M. Daly was named President and Chief Operating Officer of PSEG Long Island in October 2013. PSEG Long Island was selected by the Long Island Power Authority in Dec. 2011 to manage the Authority’s electric transmission and distribution system beginning Jan. 1, 2014. Mr. Daly had previously served as vice president and lead of the transition to PSEG Long Island.
Prior to his position with PSEG Long Island, Mr. Daly served as vice president of asset management and centralized services at Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G). Since joining PSE&G in 1983, Mr. Daly has held a variety of positions in utility operations and support services, including vice president of energy acquisition and technology. He also served as division manager of merger integration, director of utility operations services, director of corporate strategy, and general manager of transmission planning.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Daly held various first- and second-line supervisory positions in fossil generation plant operations, and was a senior consultant at Metzler & Associates and UMS Group.
