The American Red Cross will be hosting a free Reconnection Brunch for military families, veterans and reservists on Saturday Nov. 14 at 10 a.m. at Palmyra VFW Post 6778 located at 4306 State Route 31.
“This is an opportunity for the American Red Cross to say thank you to the hundreds of military families who have so bravely sacrificed their time with loved ones so that we can continue to have the freedoms we experience every day” stated American Red Cross Regional Military Director James Love.
Assemblyman Robert Oaks will be the keynote speaker at the event. The American Red Cross has provided assistance to United States military personnel and their families since World War One. Both active duty and community-based military can count on the Red Cross to provide emergency communications that link them with their families back home, access to financial assistance in partnership with the military aid societies, information and referral and assistance to veterans. Red Cross personnel form a global network in 700 U.S. chapters, military installations worldwide and in forward deployed locations in Kuwait, Afghanistan and Iraq.
In addition to the brunch, attendees will have an opportunity to meet other local military families, learn about additional Red Cross services, as well as what services are available from other organizations. Other agencies expected to be present include Canandaigua VA Medical Center, Army Strong, Veterans Outreach Center, LawNY and FLACRA-Cadence Square.
