Red Cross Offers Wilderness First Aid Training April 5 and 6

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (March 13, 2014) — The American Red Cross of Central New York will host a Wilderness First Aid class  from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 5 and 6, at the Red Cross office at 344 W. Genesee St., Syracuse.

The purpose of this course is to teach first aid principles and skills so individuals can respond to emergencies and give care in areas that do not have immediate emergency medical care. Those areas include the wilderness and remote environments created by urban disasters such as earthquakes and hurricanes.

Current Adult CPR/AED or higher certification is a required prerequisite for this course.
