In the wake of a tornado that touched down in Central New York on July 8, 2014, the Syracuse Crunch will hold an online jersey auction to benefit the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
Three Crunch road blue jerseys are available for auction. Players featured are Jon DiSalvatore, Eric Neilson and Mark Barberio - with the Barberio jersey autographed by him. The available Crunch jerseys can be viewed on the Crunch's official website. All of the proceeds generated from the sale of these three jerseys will directly benefit the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
Fans can bid on three authentic jerseys on the Crunch's official website. Bids must be made in $20 increments and must be made online by 5 p.m. July 17. Winning bidders will automatically be notified within 48 hours. Winners are responsible for shipping and handling costs.
The National Weather Service estimated the tornado, which touched down in Smithfield, Madison County, to be an EF-2 with winds over 100 miles per hour. Four people were killed during the storm.
Proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit those affected by disasters like the storms in East Syracuse and Smithfield. Your gift enables the Red Cross to prepare for and provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance in response to disasters.
