Great Tastes for a Great Cause in Downtown Findlay

We rely on the support of the community to fund our mission, and it is really exciting when we have the opportunity to work with our partners on a fun event.

Two downtown Findlay businesses, DorAnne’s Gifts and Gourmet and We. Serve. Coffee., are joining together for an evening of tasting, prizes and more to benefit the American Red Cross of Hancock, Seneca and Wyandot Counties. The Tasting Event will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at DorAnne’s Gifts and Gourmet, 327 N. Main St.

During the event, guests will sample We Serve Coffee’s delicious buckeyes, coffee cakes and other assorted treats. They will also be able to browse DorAnne’s collection of gifts, pottery and artwork. Prize bag drawings will be held every half hour during the event; guests must be present to win.

Twenty percent of all sales during the event will be donated to the American Red Cross to support local Red Cross services; disaster relief, community disaster preparedness education, Services to the Armed Forces and local military families, blood donations and life-saving skills training including First Aid, CPR and Advanced Child Care Training.

“I fully support the great work the Red Cross does in our community and across the country,” says Doris Schumacher, owner of DorAnne’s Gifts and Gourmet. “This event gives me the opportunity to give back and help raise awareness in the community of the great work the Red Cross does.”

Greg Arnette, owner of We. Serve. Coffee., echoes Schumacher’s sentiments. “We donate one hundred percent of our sales to local and global charities every quarter. This quarter, we are supporting the American Red Cross and the Tasting is part of our effort to help make a difference in our community.”

Executive Director Todd James says the Red Cross appreciates the support. “We are truly fortunate to have so many businesses like DorAnne’s and We. Serve. Coffee. step up every day to help us accomplish our work. We rely on the support of the community to fund our mission, and it is really exciting when we have the opportunity to work with our partners on a fun event like the Tasting.” James says the Red Cross will be at the event with information on Red Cross programs and services and volunteer opportunities.
