After the recent flooding and storms that devastated parts of Cleveland County, the outflow of caring and support from Oklahomans is meeting the Oklahoma Standard.
As the water was rising around them, Lawrence and Linda Simpson, the pastors of Circle the Wagon’s Ministries, knew that they had to do something for their neighbors in need. They have been providing outreach for their community for four years and after the flood subsided, contacted the American Red Cross to see what could be done.
“We do what we can, when we can,” Lawrence said.
Through partnership and support of the Red Cross, Circle the Wagon’s opened a shelter for those in the community needing a warm and dry place to sleep as well as get a hot meal.
“We really are blessed to have you guys here. We would not be able to provide the level of vital support that their community needs,” he said.
Having spent some of his teenage years homeless he understands just how easy it is for people to end up in hard situations, and how difficult it can be to get out of them. Through partnership with the Red Cross, Circle the Wagon’s and other organizations like it, are starting the process of re-building the hearts and lives of their communities.
