Red Cross Youth Event Held at Camas High School

Red Cross Southwest Washington Youth Event Camas High School
These students are leaders in their communities and we were thrilled to have them at our event.

What does it take to be a leader? The Southwest Washington Red Cross Youth Council shared their collective knowledge with their high school peers during the 7th annual Leadership Development Conference held on March 1 and 2, 2014 at Camas High School. In addition to team building exercises, Youth Council members led seminars on a number of topics including the power of positivity, selfless leadership, making good choices in the face of peer pressure, and understanding one’s personality traits. During the second day, 20 students were trained in CPR/AED and another 31 were certified for First Aid.

The 60 students attending the two-day conference represented Prairie, Mountain View, Columbia River, VSAA, Union, Battle Ground, Fort Vancouver, Skyview, Hudson’s Bay, and Camas High Schools. Some of the students were able to attend due to the generosity of Red Cross donors who paid their registration fees. The conference was sponsored by the generosity of Quantum Residential, Inc. located in Vancouver, Washington.
