The volunteers passed out over 500 holiday cards to over 200 service members and their families.

The Red Cross chapters of the Northeast Pennsylvania region have done a great deal to help out our service members and veterans this past holiday season. Thousands of holiday cards have been delivered to make our service members and veterans feel appreciated and thanked for all they do for our country.  The Danville Chapter has done a fantastic job for the Holiday Mail for Heroes program.

Margie Brouse, Danville Chapter Office Manager and Cindy Garren, Danville Chapter Major Gifts Officer, held a card signing event at the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Danville Lodge #754.  Lodge members Judi West handmade 52 cards that were signed by different members of the lodge over a two-week period in November.  On November 22nd, they held a Veteran’s Program where another 40 holiday cards were signed.  Danville Lodge members and guests in attendance also signed cards during the dinner at the program.

On Sunday, December 15th, a group of Red Cross volunteers went to the Army National Guard in Danville.  The volunteers passed out over 500 holiday cards to over 200 service members and their families.  The event was very well received and helped put smiles on hundreds of faces.

Thank you to the Danville Chapter, Margie Brouse, Cindy Garren, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Danville Lodge #754, the Army National Guard in Danville, Red Cross volunteers, all who helped with the Holiday Mail for Heroes program, and of course, our service members and veterans!
