American Red Cross Hosts 24th Annual Holiday Splendor Gala

Nearly 200 guests helped to ring in the Greensburg holiday season on Thursday, Dec. 4 when the American Red Cross hosted its 24th Annual Holiday Splendor Gala. The event, held at the Ramada Greensburg Hotel and Conference Center, located at 100 Sheraton Drive in Greensburg is estimated to bring $47,000 in support of disaster relief and other Red Cross services. The evening featured a live auction, silent auctions, mystery boxes, door prizes and dinner.

Holiday Splendor Gala Committee members included Dawna Bates, Mary Catherine Motchar of Arbor Industrial Supplies, Inc., Edwina Peduzzi, Bobbie Pescatore, Cyndi Phillips, Tereasa Rerko of Quatrini Rafferty, PC, Elena Sillaman, Rita Perotti, and Laura Summy

First Commonwealth Bank sponsored at the diamond level. Sponsors at the platinum level include Arbor Industrial Supplies, Western PA Behavioral Health, and the McFeely-Rogers Foundation. Gold-level sponsors are Excela Health, Carpenter Technology, Levin Furniture and Xcoal.

Some of the exciting live auction items included a One-Week Getaway to Beautiful Myrtle Beach Condo (valued at $4,500); “Hole in One” Golf Package (valued over $1,000); Holiday Party with Private Shopping Experience (valued at $800 - $1,200); Beer Tasting for Twelve at Chef Dato’s Table (valued at $900); “Burgh” for Two including two tickets to a Penguins game (Mar. 29), dinner at Nine on Nine Restaurant and an overnight stay for two in a deluxe room at the Fairmont Hotel.

In addition, there was a silent auction with over 30 prizes and gifts ranging from $100 to $500 in value.
