The holiday season is in full swing, and many area residents are preparing to enjoy family, friends and festivities. However, for many people, this time of year is also for charity and generosity. In line with that giving spirit, First Commonwealth Bank is offering Johnstown residents the opportunity to give back to their neighbors-in-need through its annual holiday fundraiser benefiting the local American Red Cross.
Every year, First Commonwealth Bank hosts a holiday fundraising event for the Red Cross in which the organization sells “ornaments” at various price levels, which represent various Red Cross services. All proceeds benefit the programs and services of the local Red Cross.
This year, individuals can donate $2 for preparedness training, $5 for comfort kits, $10 for emergency military communications or $25 for local emergency response. The purchased ornaments are signed by the customer and displayed on the bank’s holiday trees.
The fundraiser runs through the end of the year. Area residents can visit any local branch office in Cambria and Somerset counties to make a donation for an ornament of their choice.
