National Volunteer Week Celebrates Dennis and Rachel Magargal

Dennis and Rachael
We enjoy helping others whenever we can and the American Red Cross seems to be a good fit for us.

Dennis and Rachel Magargal have actively volunteered with the American Red Cross since 2008. They initially began volunteering with the Susquehanna and Wyoming Counties chapter, and soon began volunteering with the Southern Tier Chapter of the Central NY Region. Today, they continue volunteering with both chapters.

Dennis and Rachel primarily volunteer within the areas of Disaster and Volunteer services. They are extremely committed to the Red Cross, both putting in 30 hours weekly, and consistently looking for other ways to help out.

Dennis and Rachel commented, "We originally found out about the American Red Cross when a friend of ours went missing. We went to help with providing meals for the emergency search and rescue crew and the American Red Cross was there. At the time we didn't know that the American Red Cross did more than just Blood Drives, but found out they also helped people in need. We asked how we could get involved and they recruited us on the spot. We enjoy helping others whenever we can and the American Red Cross seems to be a good fit for us.”
