American Red Cross Accepting Nominations for Everyday Heroes

(WILKES-BARRE, PA) January 13, 2014 – The American Red Cross Wyoming Valley Chapter is accepting nominations for the 6th Annual Everyday Heroes Awards.

Everyday Heroes are ordinary people who perform extraordinary lifesaving acts. Many of these people go unrecognized for their courageous acts. Now is your time to honor them. They can be family, friends or neighbors who have performed the extraordinary deed of rescue and/or saving a life.

Everyday Hero nominations are being accepted for categories including: Adult Good Samaritan, Youth Good Samaritan, Fire Safety, Law Enforcement, Medical, Military and Animal Rescue.  Nominees must live, work or attend school in Luzerne County. The heroic act must have occurred between January 1 and December 31, 2013. Additional criteria are listed on the nomination form.
