Red Cross Helping 10 People After Woonsocket Fire

The Red Cross is helping with emergency needs in the wake of the fire.

WOONSOCKET, R.I., OCTOBER 23, 2013 – The American Red Cross is helping 10 people – four adults and six children – in two families after  a Tuesday evening fire in Woonsocket on Mount Saint Charles Avenue. The Red Cross is providing help with emergency housing and food needs.

The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a family might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire.  The children were provided stuffed toys.

American Red Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by generous donations and the work of volunteers.
