Eight people are getting help with emergency housing and food needs.

PAWTUCKET, R.I., SEPTEMBER 23, 2013 – The American Red Cross is helping eight people – five adults and three children – in two families after a fire earlier today on Harris Street in Pawtucket. The Red Cross is providing help with emergency housing and food needs.

The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a family might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire.

American Red Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by generous donations and the work of volunteers.
