The American Red Cross is helping 13 people – 10 adults and three children – in six families after an overnight fire on Cowden Street in Central Falls. Eight adults and one child in four families were provided emergency housing. Two adults and two children in four families were able to make alternate housing arrangements but are receiving help with emergency food needs.
The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a family might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire.
American Red Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by generous donations and the work of volunteers.
