Red Cross Helps Four People After East Providence Fire

The Red Cross is helping with emergency housing, food and clothing needs.

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I., September 4, 2014 – The American Red Cross is helping four adults in two families with emergency housing, food and clothing needs after an overnight fire in East Providence on Hobson Avenue.

Red Cross volunteers Freddy Silva and Marian Juskuv responded to assist the families.

The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a resident might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire.

American Red Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by generous donations and the work of volunteers.
