MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. —The Coastal SC Chapter of the American Red Cross has teamed up with BI-LO for a five week in-store Community Donation Program to raise donations for disaster relief efforts.
The program runs until March 25, and encourages all supporters to visit their local BI-LO and donate at the store register as they do their grocery shopping. All funds raised throughout Surfside Beach, Myrtle Beach, Pawley’s Island, North Myrtle Beach, Kingstree and Conway stores will benefit Red Cross disaster relief efforts.
“The Red Cross encourages customers to support our disaster relief efforts by making donations at BI-LO store registers,” said Nanci Conley, Coastal SC Chapter executive director. “We are looking forward to a successful program and helping those in need. Give a dollar. Make a difference.”
Because of trained disaster volunteers and financial assistance from the community, Red Cross has been able to help more than 1,100 people affected by disasters in the Palmetto SC region since Jan. 1. On average, the American Red Cross, Palmetto SC Region responds to a disaster every 6.5 hours. The Palmetto SC Region is made up of seven Red Cross chapters spanning 35-counties of South Carolina.
