Red Cross Supports Walk for Warmth

Over 350 walkers participated in the event despite the18 degree temperatures.

On Saturday, the Black Hills Area Chapter supported the "Walk for Warmth" which raised funds for heat assistance programs administered by the Salvation Army and Church Response.

Red Cross volunteers were located at a warming station half way through the route to provide hot chocolate, water, encouragement and first aid if needed.

Over 350 walkers participated in the event despite the18 degree temperatures. Black Hills Power is matching donations up $10,000 to help those in financial need heat their homes in the coldest months of winter and cool their homes in the extreme heat of summer.
