5th Annual Olivo Run/Walk 8/23 to Help Those Affected by Fires

Stephanie's memory lives on in the Olivo family's efforts to fight home fires.

The Fifth Annual Stephanie Olivo Memorial 5K Run/1 Mile Walk to benefit the American Red Cross will be Saturday, August 23, 2014 beginning at 8:00 a.m. Early registration through August 22th is $20.00; late registration after August 22nd or on Race Day is $25.00. Participants should register online at or in person at Up and Running, 1475 George Dieter, Suite O. Packet Pick-up is August 22nd at Up and Running, 11a.m.-6p.m., or on Race Day at the Startline from 7:00-7:45a.m. The first 150 registrants will receive a free event t-shirt. Medals will be awarded to the top 3 male and female overall and in multiple age groups. The event will raise money for the disaster relief efforts of the American Red Cross El Paso. 

About Stephanie Olivo

Stephanie Olivo was the victim of a home fire on February 11, 2010. She was a graduate of Ysleta High School Class of 2009 and was attending UTEP. Her sister Melissa managed to escape the fire and is still recovering from burns over 10% of her body. Neighbors and firefighters broke through window bars to rescue Stephanie, but she died on February 16, 2010.
