HOPEWELL, Virginia, Thursday, September 25 - The American Red Cross – Southside Area location celebrated its volunteers through its annual Volunteer Recognition on Tuesday, September 23 at an event at their office location at 22 W Washington Street.
“We are so grateful for the incredible work of our volunteers,” said Red Cross Community Chapter Executive, Rosalyn Andrews. “This event is just one way that we show our gratitude for the work of our volunteers who truly make it possible for us to meet the needs of our community.”
At the event, years of service pins were given for 5 – 25 years. Awards were given for Service to Armed Forces, Administrative Service, Community Events, Youth Services and Disaster Services.
Every single day, the American Red Cross helps people in emergencies. It can be for one displaced family, thousands of disaster victims, a blood recipient in the hospital or providing card and comfort to service members or veterans and their families.
