Jackson Shelter Goes on Standby

If the community needs us, we are ready to respond quickly.

The American Red Cross of Wyoming has put its shelter in Jackson, Wyoming, on standby status as evacuation orders were updated yesterday by Teton County Emergency Management.  Residents were ordered to evacuate last week due to instablility of the hillside around Budge Drive in Jackson.
The shelter at the Teton County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall at 305 Snow King in Jackson will remain on standby until further notice.

Between sheltering and providing hotel rooms, the Red Cross assisted 19 families displaced by the evacuation.

"We will keep our shelter and local volunteers on stand by, so if the community needs us we are ready to respond quickly," said Cindi Shank, Disaster Program Manager with the American Red Cross of Wyoming.
