The American Red Cross, with the Southern Baptist Convention, prepared, served and delivered millions of meals during the 2005 hurricane season. In fact, on day five of the Katrina relief operations, these partners
served 995,000 hot meals -- the largest number of meals ever provided in a single day.

*As of June 30, 2006; thanks to the generosity of its supporters, on Feb. 3, 2006, the American Red Cross announced that financial donations and pledges will cover the estimated $2.116 billion costs for its response to Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma.
